The Heritage Preservation Trust established Lilian Place Museum in the Thompson family riverfront home in 2008. Our historic collections at the Museum are inspiring and will serve to educate many for years to come. In 2012 the Trust acquired the adjoining riverfront property that included Hotchkiss House which is now our Cultural and Event Center.
At this time there are no hard-surface walkways between our Cultural Event Center and Lilian Place Museum.
You can play an important role by purchasing a personally engraved brick paver for the new walkways, your engraved brick paver will be displayed for all who pass through to see. Whether it is to commemorate a special occasion, honor a loved one, or to promote your business, your purchase will help! You can also select which walkway that you would like to have your engraved paver located.
Three walkways are planned that will allow our guests to safely walk between the Historic buildings. All three walkways will be in compliance with ADA regulations.
1. Heritage Walk, will connect the ADA ramp at the Cultural Center to the Lilian Place Museum parking lot.
2. Veterans Memorial Walk, will connect Lilian Place to the curved sidewalk leading to the Riverfront.
3. Memories Walk, will connect the curved sidewalk to the pergola where most of our weddings take place. We will also be adding a wooden hanging swing to the pergola so that our riverfront can be enjoyed by visitors.
Proceeds from the Heritage Preservation Trust Brick Paver Program will support Walkway Project.
