In early 2012, The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation, in partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the City of Jacksonville, began working on plans for a state-of-the-art shooting range facility to be built at the intersection of Loop Road and Graham Road in Jacksonville. The facility is designed for shooting sports and archery, and is the largest public range in the state with 14 trap fields, 3 skeet overlays, 3D archery range and a fishing lake.
On October 15, 2012 a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site, attended by supporters of the range mission and Governor Mike Beebe. The range is called the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex and is operated by the city of Jacksonville.
September 2013 signaled the launch of the capital campaign to raise the two million dollars committed by the Foundation to support the costs of building the facility. In February 2014 the capital campaign passed the 50% complete mark.
